The House

Situated in a very pretty and very ‘French’ square which is complimented by an 18th century Church, our home is built of traditional stone and ornate brick, known as a 'belle epoque' (beautiful era) house.

It was built in the 19th century and has been fully modernised yet still retains the charm and elegance of its period.

It has 3 floors, 2 of which are for our private use and the other, the top floor, is a 3 star private apartment with 2 bedrooms, totally self-contained and accessed from a private entrance.

The back of the house boasts a large hedged garden with a lawn, picnic table, swinging chair and barbecue for our guests. A floodlit fountain and garden lights add to the ambience. The majestic Beech nut trees watch over like ancient sentinels.

Where Are We?

We are situated in ‘Bagnoles Chateau’ which is a small and quaint village about 20 minutes walk away from the town of 'Bagnoles de l’Orne.'

Bagnoles de L’Orne is quite simply best described as the ‘Jewel in the Crown of Normandy.’ and is absolutely beautiful.
Set deep in the heart of The National Park of Normandy Maine this exceptional spa town originally developed and prospered by its use and exploitation of the natural spring waters which are heralded as possessing immense therapeutic powers. There is an enchanting legend which tells how the waters first revealed, by chance, their healing capabilities.

As you walk past the shops you will be amazed by the abundance of hanging baskets and planters that compliment this delightful place. Listen out for the 'singing' lamposts.

Street bars and cafes 'spill' out on to the streets and at night the Casino is lit by a display of coloured lights which reflect from the lake……did I mention that we have a lake?....with fountains?

Although the economy of the town still relies heavily on the waters with ‘Curistes’ (sounds like tourists!) making their way from all over France, and beyond, to take the cure. The town has much more to offer by way of entertainment and more and more ‘normal’ tourists are discovering this enchanting town for more and more reasons. We have yet to meet someone who hasn’t been impressed with their visit to Bagnoles de L’Orne.

Lounge
Spacious, elegant and comfortably furnished to accommodate up to 6 people. Unrivalled views of the Church with its abundant show of floral displays and the picturesque square. Television and radio. (Weddings at the Church in the summer are absolutely delightful to watch.)
Kitchen
Well-equipped for 6 adults including ample crockery and cutlery, usual small appliances eg. Kettle, toaster, coffee maker etc. Large fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, gas cooker and microwave. Separate Storeroom/Toilet
Includes ironing board and steam iron, vacuum cleaner, brush, mop and bucket.

Bedroom 1
A large room comprising one double bed and two single beds. Two built-in wardrobes with ample space for storage. Chest of drawers with mirror, table and chair. A window at the front shows views of the Church and square and a window at the back offers views of the garden.

Bedroom 2 Lovely room with double bed and wardrobe. Bedside tables with lamps. Chest of drawers with mirror. Views to the front of the house overlook the Church and square.

Bathroom Modern facilities comprising bath, overbath shower, w.c. and mirrored vanity unit with hand basin. Hairdryer. Electric shaver point.

The apartment is fully double glazed and centrally heated with radiators in every room. Cardphone provided.
All guests have access to the pleasant, large garden at the rear including lawn, lit fountain, garden swing, garden lights and trees. A separate barbeque is provided for guests (booking may be required.)
