Canoe/Kayaking – There are lots of places to experience canoeing and kayaking.
One such place is at Torschamp on the La Varenne river.

About 1˝ to 2 hours away.
Normandy Beaches – If you haven’t been then you probably should. We experienced a range of emotions.
Domfront – An historic 11th century fortress town with castled walls. 25 minute drive away.
Really pretty town steeped in history. We spent a day there in the summer and watched 'knights in
shining armour' in a medieval tournament including jousting, sword fighting, flag waving etc. A great day out. Street bars and cafes, shops, museums.
Fireworks display – Quite often but always on July 14th (Bastille Day)
Museum – Fire Service Museum (Les Pompiers)
Vide Greunier - the French equivalent of a ‘Car Boot’ sale. You will be amazed!
Train/Bus Guided Tour – Takes you all around the town (and past our house). An English translation sheet is available.
You'll need a basket and stout shoes/boots and
a mushroom field guide. (Care must be taken as some of these mushrooms are poisonous!) Professional tours are organised at the local office de tourisme. (autumn)
Horse riding – At La Moussaie. For beginners and experienced riders alike. Venture deep into the heart of the forest and just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Probably the best way to see the forest.
Tree top walks – kids from 5 years to ??? years will absolutely love this. Not for the feint hearted though!
